StrikeZone Baseball Leagues Overview

World Events Sports
offers the MLB’s official non-competitive youth Baseball League Rookie League, which is a bridge between t-ball and fast pitch baseball, is an organized league designed to teach youth ages 3 to 14 the fundamentals of baseball. One of the unique features of this program is that participants hit live pitches from a pitching machine that always throws strikes (with the exception of t-ball). The primary goals of Rookie League are to increase the number and quality of grassroots level baseball programs, increase participation, and provide a fun environment for beginning players. It provides the opportunity for kids and families to become involved in baseball through participation early in life. It also helps develop the first phase of player and coach development by teaching baseball skills at the earliest age. All players will participate in each game, regardless of existing skill level.

Our events are designed to maximize enjoyment for players without imposing a significant scheduling burden on parents. All league play takes place on Saturdays or Sundays only.

We offer two regular league seasons: Spring and Summer. We also offer camps during Summer, which are popular as well.

Friend, Sibling, and Coach Requests

When you register, you will have the option to name a friend, sibling, or coach that you would like to have your child placed with. We are able to satisfy these requests the vast majority of the time. These requests are not guaranteed, however, and on rare occasions we are not able to accommodate them. The earlier you register, the easier it is for us to fulfill your request.

Forming Your Own Team

We do not currently accept registrations for entire teams, though you can form a team using our buddy request system. All players who want to be on the team simply enter the coach's name in the "buddy request" field of the online registration form.

As long as the number of players does not exceed the maximum team size, we will strive to place all players on that team. Coaches may also request players when they register.

Coaching

All of the coaches in our league are volunteers, and most are a parent of one of the players on the team. If you know basketball and enjoy working with kids in a positive environment, we encourage you to sign up as a head or assistant coach. The commitment is limited to a few hours a week.

Coaches often return for many consecutive seasons because they enjoy the experience so much. Participating in this program a great way to help your community while teaching kids how to improve their skills. We provide you with Equipment, a coach's t-shirt, a starter playbook, and more.

The league revolves around a positive feedback philosophy, with all players being given equal opportunity to play. All coaches are expected to follow our Positive Coaching Guidelines, which will be available online in the coaching materials.
